Biography

Deborah Moss-Gail, MSN, CRNP, FNP is a family nurse practitioner who has served as full-time clinical faculty at Temple since 2019. Deborah’s passion for and experience with providing high quality primary care to underserved populations provides the basis for her teaching and clinical instruction. Her teaching focuses on helping nurse practitioner students succeed as they enter their clinical rotations.

Deborah has more than 10 years’ experience as a family nurse practitioner in diverse settings, as far away as a remote region of South Sudan and as close as a bilingual federally-qualified health center in North Philadelphia. She has provided primary care in the home and various congregate living settings. Deborah’s motivation to increase access to care in underserved areas continues to drive her as a faculty member as she prepares the next generation of nurse practitioners through education. Currently, she provides telehealth annual wellness visits for primarily Spanish-speaking patients.  

As a result of her experiences in practice, Deborah has developed an interest in workforce diversification and effective use of technology for quality improvement in the primary care setting. She is pursuing her doctorate with a focus on these interests. 

In 2020–21, Deborah served as secretary of the College of Public Health Collegial Assembly and currently she is the president-elect of this body. She also serves as co-chair of the Bylaws and Nominations Committee is a member of the Awards and Scholarship Committee of the Nursing Department.  

Deborah is an active member of the American Nurses’ Association and the Pennsylvania State Nursing Association as well as the Philadelphia Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
