Biography
Dr. Judith Flanigan has previous experience in a variety of educational settings—including Early Intervention, Head Start, and community-based child care programs—and in a variety of roles including teacher, administrator, consultant and curriculum specialist. She has also served as an Early Literacy Specialist at Children’s Literacy Initiative, Philadelphia PA, which included work supporting teachers in primary grade classrooms in the School District of Philadelphia. Her areas of interest include literacy instruction in the primary grades, the role of children’s literature in supporting preschoolers’ vocabulary development and improving literacy outcomes for preschoolers in child care programs through professional development and technical assistance.
