Biography

I am currently a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) in Philadelphia, PA. After receiving a BS in chemistry from Loyola University Maryland, I pursued my PharmD at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. I went on to complete my PGY-1 residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and PGY-2 training in ambulatory care at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

I practice as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at the Pennsylvania Hospital's J. Edwin Wood Clinic where I precept APPE students. The Wood Clinic is an internal medicine practice as is recognized as a NCQA level 3 patient-centered medical home (PCMH). I manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, and smoking cessation and have an interest in practice-based research.

At TUSP, I teach Asthma and COPD in the Pharmacology/Therapeutics sequence, lead a recitation section for Pharmacology/Therapeutics, and lecture in several elective courses including Ambulatory Care, Advanced Diabetes Management, Pharmacist in Transitions of Care and Advanced Clinical Practice II. I also precept 3rd-year students Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience. One of my research interests is educational methods and outcomes and I recently completed a graduate certificate on teaching in higher education.

I serve on the TUSP Ambulatory Care Residency Advisory Committee as Secretary. Outside of Temple, I serve as the President of the Mid Atlantic College of Clinical Pharmacy. I am also actively involved in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
