Biography
Cindy Axelrod joined the Finance Faculty at the Fox School of business following a successful 25 year career in the money management industry. As an industry professional, Cindy was a Senior Securities Analyst and Portfolio Manager with extensive experience in equity analysis and portfolio management. She has a strong track record of investing client assets utilizing value, growth, and GARP investment disciplines across all market capitalizations.
Ms. Axelrod is accomplished in equity analysis, with a sharp focus on the ability to assess important and timely business trends as they relate to corporate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Cindy is a results oriented professional who has consistently demonstrated an expertise in identifying critical business trends and catalysts and their impact on stock performance.
Prior to joining the Fox School of Business, Ms. Axelrod was employed by Glenmede Trust Company as a Vice President, and covered the healthcare and consumer staples sectors of the S&P 500. During her 10-year tenure, she outperformed the S&P 500, developed diversification strategies for clients with concentrated investment positions, evaluated private investment opportunities that enabled effective and profitable analysis, and participated in new business development.
Cindy teaches several courses within the Finance Department for undergraduate and graduate students, including the Owl Fund Seminar, Investments, Financial Statement Analysis, and Portfolio Management. She is also the Academic Director for the Financial Planning major. She also serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Financial Planning Association, a student professional organization on campus for students majoring in Financial Planning. She also serves as a Board Member for the TriState Financial Planning Association as the Career Development Chair.
Most recently, Cindy was the 2017 recipient of the Andrisani-Frank Outstanding Teaching and Teaching Related Services, as well as the 2014 MSIM Faculty of the Year awards.
She holds an M.B.A. and B.S. from Drexel University, specializing in Investment Management and Finance. Ms. Axelrod earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation in June, 2000.
