Biography
Deanna Geddes (Ph.D., Purdue University) has served as a management consultant to government, financial, pharmaceutical, insurance and retail corporations. Her research interests focus on anger and workplace emotion as well as performance appraisal practices. Dr. Geddes’ work has been cited by NBC Nightly News and several major media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, New York and Los Angeles Times, the BBC, and the Chicago Tribune.
Her studies and research models appear in Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Human Relations, International Journal of Conflict Management, Management Communication Quarterly, Aggressive Behavior, Communication Quarterly, and Negotiation and Conflict Management Research, among others.
Dr. Geddes is recognized as a pioneer in information technology use in the classroom. She received several teaching awards including the Andrisanni-Frank Fox Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Musser Award for Leadership in Teaching. In 2012, she was honored with Teacher of the Year for the full-time MBA program. She teaches strategic organizational communication, negotiation, and organizational dynamics in undergraduate, MBA, and PhD programs. She served as Chair of the Fox School’s Department of Human Resource Management from 2009-2016.
