Biography

Over the last fifty four years, Dwight Carey started and managed seventeen national and international corporations, LLCs and partnerships. He has taught over one hundred undergraduate and graduate courses at Temple's Fox School of Business and its Engineering schools since 2006. Carey is the creator and host of the TUTV series "High Flying Owls" and conducts many work shops on finance and entrepreneurship. He sits on the boards of three national and international companies.

He has been awarded the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching, The Andrisani-Frank Outstanding Teaching Award, the Provost Merit Salary Award and three Crystal Apples for University Service and Dean's Teaching Fellow, Senior Fellow and Senior Resident Entrepreneur while at Temple. Carey is also listed as one of the Top Twenty Five Entrepreneurial Educators in the World by 3D Start Ups. He is the Senior Fellow in Residence for the IEI, Fox School of Business. a Dean's Teaching Fellow, a Dean's Round Table Member In 2018 Temple created the "Dwight Carey Award for Exceptional Student Achievement" and became certified for "On Line Teaching and Digital Learning". In June 2019 he was promoted from Assistant to Associate Professor. His students have won more than 85 Business Plan Competitions and cash awards and 35 patents.
In addition, he has also won the Congressional Businessman of the Year (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006), the Congressional Medal of Distinction, the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal for Outstanding Business Leadership, twice been awarded the The Congressional Medal for Business Leadership, the Congressional Order of Merit, the Presidential Task Force Platinum Award, and the Technology Partner Award by Specialty Publishing for co-creating an electronic control system for robots. He has created five text-books for courses that were published by McGraw Hill/Irwin and Pearson Prentice Hall. Professor Carey has been interviewed on national and international television, radio shows and national magazines and news papers and is an invited speaker at national and international conferences. He does book reviews and has been written about in published books.
