Biography
With a diverse training background ranging from genetics, molecular biology, and high-throughput screening to numerous animal models of disease the ultimate goal of our laboratory is to discover novel mechanisms of disease with a focus on clinical translation. Our lab is primarily focused on aspects of mitochondrial biology, metabolism, and cell death in the context of cardiac injury, heart failure, and neurodegeneration. We have made seminal contributions to our understanding of the molecular regulation of mitochondrial calcium exchange and its role in physiology and disease.
